(28,158 posts)Gregory has been giving the GOP a free pass on every lie they choose to spew on MtP. Now he calls Boehner on one?
Seriously, what gives? Did Gregory have a recent hit to the head? Was he running a fever today, what?

(3,073 posts)And for the rest of the interview, Boner had free reign to continue with his bullshit without any other confrontations or even any interesting questions. Every once in a while David shows a glimmer of home and acts like the reporter he is supposed to be- but for the most part, he's pretty much a wimp / talking spokesperson / puppet. Would so love for Rachel or Chris Hayes to host that show-- would be a totally different experience.

(51,559 posts)How about then asking "Why does the GOP keep saying there is no Democratic plan, when in fact there is?" Or, "Do you think it is fair to maintain tax loopholes for the rich while cutting food aid to the poor?"
Of course, the fact the he even threw out the statement appears to be an improvement from his normal bootlicking.

(9,865 posts)...just worried about his rich pals again having to weather a recession, which, though it effects them less, effects them too.
He knows his advertisers will take a big hit if the middle class gets anxious again. So the word has come down from above to push back against the Repugs.
The path of wisdom is to always be utterly cynical about little Davie Greg.

(719 posts)The Senate plan that did not pass only because of the filibuster rule - 51 for, 49 against.
A House plan Republicans refused to allow a vote on - 3 times.

(23,671 posts)The PTB probably figure Obama's entitlement cuts are the best they're going to get, and Boehner already blew that deal before.
Not a spine in Gregory, more like a knife in his back from his elite corporate owners trying to prod the GOP into taking a deal thats so bad (for the 99%: the 1% have dreamed of this for decades) its tailor made for the GOP to embrace.

The person I need to have a spine seems to have just sold me out:
http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/03/03/us-usa-fiscal-idUSBRE91P0W220130303
Reuters) - President Barack Obama raised anew the issue of cutting entitlements such as Medicare and Social Security as a way out of damaging budget cuts, a White House official said on Sunday, as both sides in Washington tried to limit a fiscal crisis that may soon hit millions of Americans.
Signaling he might be ready to explore a compromise to end automatic spending cuts that began late Friday, Obama mentioned reforming these entitlement programs in calls with lawmakers from both parties on Saturday afternoon.
"He's reaching out to Democrats who understand we have to make serious progress on long-term entitlement reform and Republicans who realize that if we had that type of entitlement reform, they'd be willing to have tax reform that raises revenues to lower the deficit," White House senior economic official Gene Sperling said on Sunday on the CNN program "State of the Union."
