They never realize that Democratic politics doesn't actually resemble the fiction they regularly promote about our party and candidates. The last election, their fiction was so unbelievable that voters turned them off. Bush starts out with a significant handicap: Republican policies are just unpopular with the majority of Americans. The only chance Jeb has in a general election is to try and tack to the center. Unfortunately, to get his party's nomination, he has to appeal to the knuckledraggers first. Case in point . . .
