Idaho game officials say 245 wolves bagged this year

BOISE, Idaho — Hunters appear to be having less success hunting and trapping wolves in the Idaho backcountry than a season ago.

Idaho Fish and Game officials announced Monday that hunters had bagged 245 wolves this season. At the end last season, hunters killed 379 wolves.

There is still time for hunters to make gains on last year's mark.

Hunting and trapping in most zones across the state remain open through the end of March. Seasons in the Lolo and Selway zones in the north-central part of the state remain open through June 30.

What a tragic thing that the big, bad 'hunters' can eliminate a species. sinkingfeeling Mar 2013 #3

I was living between there and Montana when the program began to relocate wolves that had been killed in the previous century to restore nature's balance. I was in the Lolo wilderness camping with my husband and the wolves howling at night are like nothing you have ever heard. It's truly magical. I can see why we have so many stories and myths surrounding wolves in our literature.

I just really need to spit on every one of you Idaho and Montana morons who are doing this.

The vet, who worked at a wolf recovery site for a period of time, says there's a good chance he has some wolf in his DNA. And he has enjoyed watching wolves on public TV with nose pressed against the screen.

We're both agreed with your thoughts on the blood lust for these creatures in this state.

He kind of looks like a wolf mix. There was an industry about sixty years ago of mixing wolf with domestic dog. He might be a descendent. I know up in Alaska the mushers often would allow some wolf mix in their huskies to strengthen the blood lines.

This is about half the wolves in the area, probably closer to 2/3...what vile scum...and what vile scum Salazar is.
