I've worked at my local Gov't Office for 28 years.

And never in all of those years has the PD offered training sessions to the rank and file on a topic even closely related to "What to do if an active shooting event occurs". If we are so much safer now with so many more guns out on the streets, with so many of the good guys armed, why is it that *now* this training is necessary?

PS....This is in Utah.

for training with the local cops. He works at a bank, well credit union really. The training was for what to do in case of a holdup.
We have several credit unions and they got together and set up a 'bank' on the upper floor and had to do some play acting. He does this annually. I guess all banks do this everywhere, we are in upstate NYS.
Every office should have this even if a cop just comes in to talk.
