Indiana Senate on verge of passing 'right to work' bill

The Indiana Senate will take a final vote on the so-called “right to work” bill on Wednesday, with the bill to go to Gov. Mitch Daniels to be signed in to law soon after.

The way was paved for that final vote today when the Senate rejected three amendments sought by Democrats. Since the bill is unchanged from the version that passed the House on Friday by a vote of 54-44, all that is needed now is a final vote in the Senate.

The outcome, though, is certain. The Senate already voted earlier this session 28-22 for an identical bill.

This morning, labor union protesters sang “Solidarity Forever” as the Indiana Senate prepared to debate amendments on the so-called “right to work bill.”
