How sweet! What a charming notion.

The President and GOP Senators dining at the posh Jefferson Hotel while discussing how to deal with financial issues.
They do this at a time when people haven't recovered from the other blows AND while services are being cut to those who have no way to get them elsewhere. Many people depend on these programs just to eke out some sort of life.

The lot of them should be tied up in a Burger King with nothing to eat but Barbaro Burgers until they can find some decent solution.

A pox on all of them!

It is increasing clear that George Carlin was right about the ruling class in America ; " its a big club, and you ain't in it! "

I used a word that rhymes with "him beachment" a while ago as a cure to this tendency of a certain "alleged " social security betrayal and I was soundly censored.

And yet in this case I am going to come to his defense.

Obama's job is to govern. That requires some level of compromise, and it requires that he meet with and understand these guys on a more personal level than speeches can deliver. Even having this dinner cost both sides some support from their more passionate base. There's a lot more to making deals happen than meets the eye. He has to understand what deals they have with each other before he can propose any deals with himself.

I share your skepticism, but I think it is best to save the outrage for when he is actually stabbing his supporters in the back.

Just my opinion.

How many times have you heard these people lecture those who have to use government assistance about wasting their elevnty billion $$ on extravagant items?

Let them dine at the White House. The food and service there are not too shabby.

If they have to meet in a posh restaurant to get a deal, they are all living in worlds they need to be jerked out of. The money all of them have wasted in the past few years could feed this nation. And I do begrudge them this! If they stayed in session, worked in good faith, and had done anything but cut the safety net, it would be a different story.

As far as deals go, meh! How many times has he met with those mooks In various places with no progress? I really wasn't even addressing that and I won't go on.

Chilean Sea Bass my ass! i hope somebody substituted grouper for their refined palates.

"If they have to meet in a posh restaurant to get a deal, they are all living in worlds they need to be jerked out of."

The entitled life goes on for them, while many people are working two (or three) jobs and still can't stay afloat.

A pox on all their houses!
