Obama changed the Oath of Office at his Inauguration?! What?!

I just had lunch with a woman who INSISTS that the president didn't use the usual Oath of Office at his inauguration. Anyone else hear this? I was so flabbergasted that I could only respond with "No, he didn't."

Also, he hates people who disagree with him, I was told. And he's not Christian. She kind of shut up when I told her I'd heard him speak about his faith journey at the UCC General Synod in 2007. Sheesh!

Next time my Episcopal colleague invites me to lunch with him and some "nice ladies from the church", I think I'll decline.

Oh, that's right. It was Roberts' screw up, not the President "changing the oath". Critters2 Jan 2012 #2

I do remember now...but it wasn't because he's an evil so and so who doesn't love America, as I was being told.

Even with the screw up, it's not like he wasn't promising to defend, protect and preserve the Constitution. Geez. These people are crazy!

Yet it comes out as Obama changing the Oath of Office. Typical of the party that needs to lie to find something wrong with Obama.

and had to redo it later. Your lunch woman is a nut, who either doesn't listen, hears what she wants to hear or listened to a Fox reporter goof up the story or lie.

We blow folks to smithereens all over the planet, and quaint old legalisms like "due process" and "evidence" and "trials" are just relics of a bygone era. The oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution has been supplanted with "do anything we feel like doing, consequences be damned." I used to think that without the Constitution the United States ceased to exist, but this year's fashion says otherwise, and it's time to trim those outdated ideals to fit the New Order.

I just watched Obama's and Roberts' Harvard Constitutional Law professor on Colbert talking about how they BOTH screwed up the Presidential oath of office.......and how he felt he must not have done a good job with them.
