...the project is meant to provide clarity for the occupy movement and dispel misconceptions created by MSM and RW. Quote from their website: "The strength of Occupy lies in the fact that a professor, a laborer, a student, an immigrant, the unemployed, and a business owner can stand together demanding change. We will line the streets of Oakland with large scale portraits that highlight the diversity of Occupy. Inside Out is a global art project that transforms messages of personal identity into pieces of artistic work. The Inside Out project is a creation of the artist JR, recipient of the 2011 TED Prize for his impactful application of large portraits on buildings all over the world."
Portraits are intended to be made into posters and mounted on abandoned walls under a larger worldwide project: http://www.insideoutproject.net/
