Baby dies after being shot five times as dad changes diaper

A 6-month-old baby has died after she was shot Monday while her father was changing her diaper.

After several surgeries, Jonylah Watkins passed away Tuesday morning, Chicago Pastor Corey Brooks confirmed.

Jonylah's father, identified by family members as 28-year-old Jonathan Watkins, is in stable condition. He was changing the little girl's diaper on the front passenger seat of the family van when the shooting occurred, police said.

"The city of Chicago should be outraged that a 6-month-old baby could be shot and killed in our city," Brooks said. "It's horrific."

How could someone with a propensity to behave that way not already be dead or in jail?

6. The shooter has probably been in jail before, and will probably be dead in not too many years

If the police know him, and he's at the level in the gang to be trying to kill someone, he's almost certainly been in jail already.

8. True. Most violent crimes are committed by repeat offenders who managed to slip through the cracks.

and on the train this morning I was listening to a group of people talk about people who they know that have committed crimes like it was no big deal. The "code of silence" on the street is not going to be broken until these people get it in their heads that breaking any law is wrong and if you see someone doing it you have to turn them in.

P.S. of course every rule has exceptions people smoking pot for example
