Will Pope Francis Have Any Influence On Politics Here In The USA?.....

Just wondering because they say he's an advocate for poor and the downtrodden. The Repugs seem to be doing everything possible to hurt the poor, downtrodden and the struggling middle class.

I'm curious is his being the Pope now will have any influence on our Politics here. There must be some devout Catholic Repug Senators and Congressmen. Will they be affected in a good way to back off on dumping on the poor by this new Pope?

What name comes to mind first when you hear this?

The Repugs seem to be doing everything possible to hurt the poor, downtrodden and the struggling middle class.

Paul Ryan. And he's Catholic.

Fortunately, the mixture has not been in the Senate for years.

I wouldn't promise that the outcome will be good........

I read that he's very strongly anti-abortion; that's not very favorable to the poor, IMO.
