Found via Public Shaming blog that compiled MORE disgusting examples of public "she deserved it" reactions to the S-ville case.
Lee Stranahan titled his article about the Steubenville HS case: "Guilty Verdict in Steubenville Rape Case that Saw Anonymous Terrorize a Town". You read that right, he frames STEUBENVILLE as the VICTIM of Anonymous!!!
Stranahan complained:
In a bizarre story with a cast of characters that includes the New York Times, a fugitive anarchist and Roseanne Barr, massive media malpractice led to the Ohio town being terrorized in real life by elements of the hackivist group Anonymous. After the major mainstream media and left-wing blogosphere got the story completely wrong by spreading wild rumors that the trial revealed to be totally false, the self proclaimed media watchdogs are nowhere to be found.
The Steubenville rape case is a prime example of the mainstream press botching basic facts, violating all principles of fair reporting and getting away with it. The Steubenville story blew up last December with long piece in the New York Times that portrayed Steubenville as a football crazed town where local officials might be covering up a crime. The Times story was quickly followed by the involvement of Anonymous, who hacked into a local website and demanded vigilante justice against not just the suspects but against the entire town, especially anyone and everyone connected with Steubenvilles successful Big Red high school football team.

Unfortunately the highest-up comments do not question this article. I found this one under the usual muck of Breitbart wingnuttery that should be upvoted:
Weird that fearless "journalist" Lee Stranahan, who has allegedly won awards for his BDSM/torture themed pornography, fails to report that the victim, the victim's lawyer, and even the Sheriff of Jefferson County have repeatedly commended the role Anonymous played in bringing attention and support to this case. Heck, the Sheriff even bought pizza for Jane Doe's supporters--including those align with Anonymous--during the trial.
But given that Lee "accidentally" managed to reveal the 16-year-old victim's real name on THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS in the last two and a half months, maybe journalism just isn't something he's talented at doing. Oh well, he can always fall back on the porno.

And this one also should get DU'ed:
Wow, football culture is an American value. I didn't know that. I don't worship at the altar of football. I wonder if the writer of this article lives in a fantasy land were school administrations and coaches don't cover up abuse, has he ever heard of Penn State? Wow, maybe Breitbart really is as low as some of it's critics say it is.
In his blog Stranahan in Exile: Lee Stranahan Corrects The False Stories Spread By Anonymous, Blogs & The Mainstream Media About The Steubenville Rape Story, Stranahan describes himself as "one of the main narrators of the film Occupy Unmasked" with "much of his work...focused on Occupy Wall Street and Anonymous." TL;DR = a concern troll.
The NYT article that made Steubenville a national name is "Rape Case Unfolds on Web and Splits City". The NYT cites witness testimony...not hearsay/rumors...for the gruesome details that I'll save for your choice to click on the article.
Breitbart sure is a great day care center for such phonies as Stranahan, Ben Shapiro, Debbie Schulssel, and other morons who make EVERYTHING...even a f-kin' rape case...about "the left." Ironically its namesake was in a video screaming "STOP RAPING PEOPLE!" to OWS'ers but the website turns around and complains about how two good ol' Heartland boys are going from high school football to prison all because...the LEFT happened to be rallying for them to be prosecuted.
