It is pretty much Impossible for a President to say troops died for Nothing

MR. CARNEY: ...he said at the time, as a candidate for the Senate, that war is necessary sometimes, but not all wars are necessary, to paraphrase, and that this one in his view was not.

But that in no way should take away from his extremely strongly held view that the Americans who were sent over to serve their country in Iraq performed heroically and at a level of professionalism that has never been seen before. And it is because of their service that Iraq has the chance, and the Iraqi people have the chance, for a better future. And he’s enormously grateful for that service.

I am sympathetic... genuinely. I know a President or WH spokesman is not really allowed to be utterly candid about certain things.

But does anyone really believe that? Is the idea that the war a mistake for the USA, but a benefit to Iraq?

I know those who were complicit in the march to war won't but I hope maybe our more liberal senators and congresspeople can whip up a coalition to start the ball rolling in getting some justice here.
