Ed Schultz Calls Politico ‘Nothing But A Bunch Of Freaking Whores’
Finally freed from his weekday job at MSNBC, progressive radio host Ed Schultz brandished a particular bitterness toward Washington D.C. insider website Politico on Tuesday, calling them “nothing but a bunch of freaking whores” over a report claiming his split from the network was not voluntary.
Vowing he’s going to “tip over on the air” and die one day doing his radio show, Schultz told his audience he just could not handle 13-14 hour days on the air and on television anymore. “I’m not a spring chicken,” he said. “I’ve got a lot of tire left, but I am 59.”
Then he started to get clearly agitated as he proffered a response to his critics in the media. “Now, if this is all about the guy with the most toys wins, I’ve kicked your ass,” he said. “No offense. I’m just, I’m trying… I guess this is for some media people who haven’t even had the courtesy to call me, but have come to the conclusion that there’s some conspiracy out there or there’s just something — ah, Ed is being forced to do this, that and the other.”
Schultz backtracked a bit, assuring his audience that he’s never had a hard time getting out of bed or getting to work because he loves what he does. Still, he added, “the lifestyles don’t change for any of us” in the media.
