Local radio wingnut's answer to dying vet's letter to Shrub-CHEENEE

See kpete's thread for the vet's letter: http://www.democraticunderground.com/10022533481

So he said: "He forgot to mention all the Dems who voted for the Iraq war."

So I replied: Yeah, the only time you're for bi-partisanism. You forget to mention all the Rethug disinformation, propaganda, fear-mongering, "patriotism" baiting. But don't let those considerations keep you from letting into your conscience the blood and treasure. You have time to ponder that the vet in hospice doesn't have.

Needed to add the Tater dude's word: Dumbass.

Here 'tis:

I'm a dumbass? I am agreeing with you SAVE and except that the bile of the left is wasted only on their twin towers of hatred, bush and cheney. And they bear the burden for their cock up. The war on iraq was won easily; the peace or what came after was handled at a feloniously stupid level. I'm waiting for an explanation from someone as to why it was so poorly;y prepared for and thought thru. Group think? Wishful thinking? Blitheness? I prefer arrogance of power. Hubris for sure. And even those don't cover it. I am listening to Woodward's book on the thing and it is an indictment of the admin and cheney and rummy. Some democrats did oppose it but the mass of them voted for it. and they had no countervailing (right word?) idea on what to do. I was for Iraq because i believed that people want to live as free people as in understand it. i don't think that way anymore.

My only point was that you guys hate bush and cheney and that is easy and you just ignore the role your own Democrats played in the whole thing. They went along with it. hell, they liked the idea and if it had been handled differently, they'd have put it on their resume. My point is, I guess, they are just as culpable and worthy of your scorn and hatred as the Bush admin.

Subj: Your bloodless reply

So you skipped right past the “conscience,” the blood and treasure, & just harp on the everybody-shares-the-blame and the-war-was-fine-just-the-follow-up-not.

You claim that everybody wanted the war and skipped right past the regime’s propaganda/disinformation/fear-mongering/false”patriotism”.

Yes, I distinctly remember how you back THEN “believed” (do you REALLY believe anything?) that those Arabs were not benighted at all and YEARNED for Jeffersonian democracy, that the whole LYING FIASCO was really Woodrow WILSON idealism in bringing democracy to the DARK corners of the world, along with every other Weekly "Reason"/flavor of the week the Shrubs put out.

And, yes, it’s so easy to dismiss all criticism as just personal hatred for Shrub and CHEENEE. That way you don’t have to deal with all the reasons. Those two are not hated because their names are Shrub and CHEENEE, they are hated because we understood them. From the beginning. Dumbass.
