I'm not on Beyonce's side anymore...

sorry to all the people who I bickered with on Superbowl eve.

But in recent months, she’s opted for a change in direction, and a pretty stark one at that. Not only has she decided to call her upcoming global tour ‘Mrs Carter”, ditching her own powerful name to instead take on that of her husband’s, but this week the singer posted a taster of her new single Bow Down on her website, ahead of the release of her fifth album, and it ain’t pretty.

In the song, Beyoncé sings to her female fans: "I know when you were little girls / You dreamed of being in my world / Don't forget it, don't forget it / Respect that, bow down, bitches", with the refrain “bow down, bitches” aggressively and tediously repeated throughout the song. We’ve come a long way since the days of “put a ring on it.” Put a sock in it, more like.

That song may very well be in response to the criticism she received over the Super Bowl liberal_at_heart Mar 2013 #1

People, people, people! I expect more from DU posters. Obviously not many posting here, including the OPer listened with any kind of discerning ear to Beyonce's new song. Here are a couple of verses about 30 seconds in"

“I took some time to live my life / But don’t think I’m just his little wife.”

Come on DU, let's do better.

She's just another product of the sexist and misogynistic music biz... a puppet who will collapse when her looks fade.

I think her and Jay Z have enough cash to last several lifetimes. I believe Lindsay Lohan posed as she was cash-strapped and her career was on the skids and now pretty much over--- unless she ventures into porn. Actually, it's really none of my business why someone chooses to pose for a magazine.

I was wrong---I predicted this would be a hot topic yesterday as that's when I saw it on the morning news.

Beyoncé would be blonde, have a smaller waist, and that her cellulite would be mysteriously gone. Oh, and the nose job.

Check, check, check, check.

Produced by:

The track is produced by Hit-Boy, the man behind Jay-Z and Kanye's "N----s in Paris." The young producer is quickly becoming the most trusted producer in hip-hop and pop, having put in work for Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber and a host of other big names.
