Cyber security is being pushed to the forefront. Beware, be very aware.

We have entered the public phase of cyber warfare, it has been going on for a while, but the seriousness of the problem is becoming evident.

The only true solution is to throw a complete filter over the internet and screen every request for a web page (or url) by a central control center which will decide if your request is allowed or not.

Your internet speed will mean nothing if you have to wait for a clearance to go to any site. Welcome to the New Internet. Don't let Congress go crazy.

We need to harden vital servers and demand companies pay attention to security.

I am very suspicious of government motives with this. I (and everyone on this site too ) are often very critical of government officials and polices. If they are the ones controlling the filters I believe it will end up destroying our free speech.

This is one area where I trust the free market to develop protections to suit our needs.

The free market has had plenty of notice to tighten their servers, but nothing.

Once the banks and credit card companies realized they could make more money by providing a post-crime cleanup service, than by guarding against the crime in the first place, they had their "free market solution".

I don't mean the problem, but your Orwellian and technically ridiculous solution.
