It's WEDNESDAY!! Now, somebody argue with THAT.

I cannot believe that there are people actually arguing that refined sugar is a nutrient required by the body. Somebody posts an article about a study which showed that soda is as bad for the body as alcohol or tobacco, which just isn't that hard to believe, and there are people who are arguing with the findings.

I love this place.

They posted one "scientist" who decided to get himself some press attention by making that assertion.

Since no noun becomes before your word "it," you are basically saying nothing is Wednesday, but we know Wednesday is a girl in the Adams Family.

It is grammatically incorrect to say 'it is Wednesday'? Then that means that the sentence 'it is grammatically incorrect to say 'it is Wednesday' is grammatically incorrect, too.

That can't be right. Or if it is (what noun was 'it' referring to there? There was no noun before 'it'), it is (see previous parenthetical comment) only incorrect in instances which call for extremely formal writing.

That was a reach, my friend.

more acceptable.

It is grammatically incorrect to say 'it is Wednesday'? Then that means that the sentence 'it is grammatically incorrect to say 'it is Wednesday' is grammatically incorrect, too.

I believe the correct version would be: Saying, "it is Wednesday," is grammatically incorrect.

Maybe the commas aren't needed.

I figure nobody can really remember when to use semi-colons; so it looks smarter than just garden variety commas.

In the sentence 'It's Wednesday.' 'it' is referring to the noun 'Wednesday' which follows. Therefore, using your own explanation, it is grammatically correct.

And OH MY GOD I just had a three or four post long discussion about the correct use of 'it' in a sentence and my love for this place has been reinforced tenfold.

You would also ask "Is it grammatically incorrect to say 'it is Wednesday'?"

Problem solved!
