I was exposed to the local political process at an early age, so I was privy to behind-the-scene machinations that drove every election from school board to jailer. On the national level? Fuhgeddaboudit! I became convinced that all of human progress occurs in spite of corruption and conservatism. From what I know of history, there has never been a time in this nation's history where a choice between two good options for office has ever existed.
