(768 posts)in the form of the Reagan/Bush tax cuts and corporate welfare over the last 30 years. And they dont want to pay it back. What we got is 2 trillion of IOU special bonds. Just watch what happens when we try to seriously cash those in to pay for SS benefits

(15,328 posts)I hate to say it but as a 65-yo I think I should start pulling whatever cash is left me from this account.
Screwed just like the Russians investing in Cyprus.
Different countries; same banker-shit.

(345 posts)Republicans have a plan. Refuse to extend debt limit - you know, to cover the $6 trillion Bush threw away enriching those bastards and the $5 trillion Saint Reagan borrowed during 'trickledown' - and the $2 trillion Social Security surplus 'borrowed by repubs' won't have to be paid back when the USA can't pay its debts.
No problem.

(34,661 posts)This attack on our Social Security system started will Nixon and his thieves. They(the Bankster's and Insurance Shyster's)have been working the media to cover their asses, while they try to steal the last big pool of money available to Wall Street. Just think of this number:2 Trillion leveraged at the normal Derivative Rate at 10 to 1,then through in the usual compounding, yes, this would cover all of the bad Mortgage Bonds and other crap investment instruments that are floating around the world.
Read Matt Tiabbi's Stones article,it will chill you to the bone.

(10,597 posts)...and the 1% has been frothing at the mouth for decades to get their fingers on it. They think they are SO close. But they don't know how far they are. Thanks, ashling, for this quote from our favorite DU member and House Representative (mine anyways.)

(9,298 posts)is a tireless, fearless very, very public fighter and needs to be kept in office for as long as he wants it. He must receive cash from we the people throughout the rest of 2013 and right up to the mid-terms in 2014. We the people must help him because he will help us. It's that simple.

(7,358 posts)they're not thinking about making it after 65 on SS .. they've got plenty of retirement for that .. a little nest egg tucked away .. oh and lets not forget the dividends. What they could do is raise the cap on FICA .. there would be no talk about the insolvency (myth) what-so-ever .. but they've got plans to steal it .. no doubt.

(750 posts)You will have to start laughing about this comment because the other day watching MSNBC both Chris Hays and Rachael Maddow report about the latest civics news, death, corruption, scandal, guns, gays, wars, and loads of secret stuff busting from the seams where its the Congress stupid. Most of the time retelling things faster than a stuck page forward on the computer.
Where money is free speech with bag o money is flying around faster than a Blagos scandal seventy times seven. Here with legions of Democrats that peels off the pledge of allegiance to both the flag and the Constitution support the Republican Wahhabi formula that underscores the political teasing terrorist Tea Party, our very own Congress promoting the festering and sequestering of poor and middle class America. The perfect Wahhabi way to conquer America without invading it.
These entire news journalist making six figure salaries that are perhaps magna cum laude lawyers or MBA type college graduates prove one thing; statistical fornication can be created by legislation.
Also, gerrymandered Grand Juries have been upon Americans for decades. Allah Michigan, many call it the French Persian version of the Republican Wahhabi politics that scrap Democracy and appoint Nazi local skin heads to run communities gone sour. What ever happened to sending in coaching, or advisors to help rather than to replace? Or better yet indict or convict corruption. Sheesh.
