(166 posts)That took a lot of courage. What an ordeal she's been through and yes... they can and should kiss her ass.

(32,086 posts)My mom's second bout with breast cancer came with neurological complications. She went from "normal" to being afflicted with what can best be described as being like a bad case of cerebral palsy. She is wheelchair bound. Her fists are permanently clenched. She can barely speak coherently. And, that's just the tip of it. The person I knew as "Mom" is barely there. But, enough of her is still here that if she saw this video, she'd agree with the "kiss my ass" part--BIG TIME. So does the rest of my family.

(15,943 posts)and thank you Lisa for posting this very powerful video.
I'm sure that took a lot of courage for Linda to bear herself like she did. But I am so glad that she did.
As she stated Cancer IS NOT pretty. I hope Linda recovers so she can become the spokesperson for cancer.

(3,235 posts)lost their mothers or who's mothers are currently battling this disease. I know it up close and personal, and I have never witnessed more strength and determination at beating something, than the women I know, or have known, who were fighters, or are now fighting, and who are determined to beat this disease. My mom battled this disease from 1988-1994 when there weren't the advances we have today, but the fight was still the same, the determination and courageousness no less present. These courageous women are our mom's, our sisters, our cousins, our aunts, our co-workers and our friends and I have never stopped fighting this battle with them and on their behalf since it touched my life personally so many years ago. My mom was 50 years old.........when she lost her battle and I fight in her memory, with those I know, and on behalf of all of the beautiful and courageous women all around the world I don't know, to one day put an end to this disease. I do it because it is the right thing to do without concern for politics. I do it because it is the right thing to do, where some just think about making a buck off of someone elses pain and suffering, and I will be in this fight for the rest of my life because I care about the suffering of others, because it's the right thing to do. What has happened at Komen is sickening and sad. Karen Handel is sickening and sad. Anyone who plays politics with anyones healthcare decisions or their ability to receive healthcare is disgusting, sickening, and sad. Thank you for posting this powerful video.

(16,254 posts)She doesn't leave anything to ponder about...she calls SGK out exactly as they should be. The Republicans and Tea Party should also be ashamed for being any part of this scenario.
What do they have running, this year? A "come up with the most bizarre changes/charges you can for state and federal governments" contest? They are attacking from all directions on women's rights, the poor, taxes, urine samples...you name it.
I think they are seriously losing their minds.
