Dixie Carter was herself a right winger, I'm pretty sure. Still good stuff.

along with her spouse, Harry Thomason. That should not suggest that Dixie Carter did not do amazing work in that scene, in that series, and in many other roles in her great career.

Dixie Carter was herself a conservative, only the character she played was a liberal.

I'm a white Southerner, blood and bone, and I'm not a conservative by any stretch of the imagination.

I love her any way, even if she was a Republican, if she was an ardent supporter of my community. Interesting people aren't easily compartmentalized

if any net work would allow a script like this read on the air of any show these days ? Somehow, I seriously doubt it.

Patrick and Lisbon interview three kids who had worked for the murder victim. It seems they had an alibi. They were arrested participating in the Occupy movement in I believe San Francisco so they were in jail when the murder happened. Not much else was said about that, but I thought it was interesting that the writers threw that in. They could have provided any number of other none political alibis for the characters.

When I worked as a bartender in the LA area years ago, many of my customers were writers in the TV and movie industry. All of them were liberals. I don't think that has changed much. I think they will sneak into the scripts whatever references they can to what is happening today.

Anyway, that is my hope.

Nice clip this and her rant on Delta Burk's character in the beauty pagent are what stick out to me from this series.
