Might be too little, too late for Komen, bioethicist says

By even raising the possibility that they would pull the plug on the hundreds of thousands of dollars they give to Planned Parenthood to support breast cancer detection, they have lost the single-minded focus on finding a cure for a horrid disease that allowed them to become a charity giant envied by every other disease advocacy organization in the world.

snip

There is one last step that can be taken to save the mighty Komen from running aground permanently. The entire executive leadership and board must resign. Now. Anything less means that the prominence that Komen achieved will become simply one more in a long list of worthy causes that Americans may or may not choose to support.

I still have NO trust in Komen and do not want to be associated with it. My one year cancerversary is next October, but you won't catch me in pink that month.

They've exposed themselves and in doing so opened a lot of peoples eyes about their organization that otherwise wouldn't have had a CLUE as to how right wing they are.

Komen is no better than any right to life group, in fact they're worse! Not only do they support the extreme right wing agenda, they're profiting off of AND contributing to the disease by distributing and selling known carcinogenic products.

Never Again will I donate or buy anything pink and I will tell everyone I can about them and their right wing agenda.

Fuck Komen.

As someone on DU said yesterday:

"Preventing breast exams and catching cancer early, way to prove your pro-life stance Komen."

When it comes down to bare-bones, it's all about the fetus with these folks.
