More like he just wasn't the smoothest character. That's compounded when you're in the public eye nonstop. We have enough Bush gaffes on tape and in photos to last a lifetime. He accumulated way more than his fair share

And was on the sauce more frequently than not. Especially towards the end. He looked drunk on his ass at the Olympics in China. He did press conferences when he was red nosed and slurring his words.

He's what they call a dry alcoholic having never gone through a 12 step program.

Read "Fortunate Son" (author was suicided) where he describes Bush' disappearances to Mexico for days. He also allegedly abused Laura. That kind of alcoholic just doesn't go dry without treatment.

I still see no evidence from during his presidency. 'Fortunate Son' was written before the 2000 election.

Whatever. I still don't think he was drinking then. But it doesn't even matter. He was prone to goofiness even without the sauce.
