Average cost of this year's Super Bowl ticket: $3,600!!!

Guest on w/Dylan just said it. He was reminiscing when the tickets were an average of $9.00. I don't know when that was, but I DO know I saw the Beatles -- twice -- for $5 and those were the "most expensive" tickets in the early '60's!

As he said, Joe Six Pack won't be able to attend this game.

MSNBC will be the only one streaming the game live if anyone is interested.

This is nothing more than a media mega-event with a football game as a small side show.

those who will bet at least that much off the books. And then are those who just plain despise the mother-fucking, dog-ass, New York Giants! I would imagine that all of them find the game itself to be "relevant".

called the AFL-NFL World Championship Game, I am approximately $3K to the good. Not a lot, but I promise you, every game was "relevant". I'm also a fan, and I had a rooting interest in every game. You may find it uninteresting, but in 2 days, approximately 1 billion people around the world will find it "relevant".

Is very very close to what we have now. Corporations ruled the world. Only difference is the Corporations in the movie made sure everyone had enough so they didn't complain. As long as you didn't question the Corporation you had all the basic needs, food, clothing , shelter, work....

And then they gave us Rollerball...

he bought at Walmart on a nearly maxed out MasterCard with an astronomical interest rate on which he barely manages to pay the minimum every month.

The nifty TV will suck up an amazing amount of power to add to his already backbreaking electric bill,
and produce enough heat so that Joe will turn the A/C on half way through the first quarter.
He lives in Minot, ND.

And 'his' home is now worth $50,000 less than his mortgage amount.

8. IMHO - Large HD televisions and projectors have made going to sports games less worth it by far

While the experience of being at the game is a fun one, its not as good for actually seeing what is going on as watching the event on a large screen HD television or projected image. Even if you are field or courtside. Sometimes its even worse field or courtside.

sportscaster to explain some of the plays and calls! It's a lot of fun to be in a stadium with happy, excited fans sharing the game. But now that I don't have the $$$ for the great seats I once had, I'm just as happy watching at home.
