Freedom creates complexity, and complexity is difficult enough to understand, and even more difficult to control. If you install a dictator, and you control the dictator, then you have a method of maintaining control.

Right up there with Arbenz in Guatemala and the coup in Chile.

I normally defend Ike in the context of comparison to today's GOP, but some of the shady crap that happened while he was golfing was inexcusable.
