A letter I sent today to Sens. Baucus, Heitkamp, Begich and Pryor

Dear Senators Baucus, Heitkamp, Begich and Pryor:

I write, as a fellow Democrat, to express my utter disgust for the complete lack of humanity you demonstrated with your cowardly vote against allowing a vote on the bill requiring universal background checks for gun purchasers. I expected as much from Republican senators, who have long since given up even the pretense of trying to do the right thing for the country. I did not expect it from any Democrat.

I understand you were concerned that voting to allow a vote on the bill might have made you vulnerable to attack by the NRA, and thus might have been a risk to your retention of your Senate seat. But as a moral matter, your first obligation is to do what is right for the American people, NOT to protect your own political hide! That you could take such a vote, even as the families of Newtown victims looked on from the Senate gallery only serves to underscore your own moral depravity. You are a disgrace to your Party and to the office you hold, and if you had so much as a shred of decency, would promptly tender your resignation.

Sincerely,
Mark P. Kessinger

I was thinking of doing the same thing, but, chances are, you have to put a zip code in their form before you will be allowed to proceed. Unless you can get appropriate zip codes. And letters would take long to get them, especially with recent events.

I was thinking of sending to their local offices.

What about Harry Reid? He did not vote .

Thank you for the initiative. I may borrow from you.

I have no leverage with them because I am not a direct constituent. But I needed to say it whether or not it does any good.

would matter.
90% of Americans supported the bill. ANYBODY with any moral conscience would support the bill. They're all f--ktards and there's nothing we can do about it except vote them out in the next round (and when we're voting we have to choose between evil and bad in many cases!).

country. We know the Republicans have abandoned all our citizens but it really stinks when a Democrat does the same thing.

I am writing to each of them to let them know that although I am not a voter in their states, I will donate money and support to ANY democrat who runs against them in a primary. I don't have to live in their states to have an impact on their future, and I want their future to involve an unemployment check.

These four must go. There are no excuses, no apologies and no explanations for their cowardice. And they will each offer plenty of each as they pretend to stand with the people even after they stood with the NRA and its lies on this vote.

You're going to get 4 crazy ass repubs. to replace them. Those states are very red and pro gun and will never elect a liberal Dem for the Senate.

but in those red states, the Dems are very pro gun also and won't elect a progressive Dem. All that would be accomplished by trying to get rid of these 4 would be repub. pick up of 4 sen. seats.

it might help them in re-election rather than cause them to risk their seats.

baucus is a hack, he is one of the big reasons we do not have single payer. i think sometimes you have to take it in the chin and just vote him out. with democrats like him you may as well have a republicon. we need to take the democratic party back and the only way to do that is get rid of the dems who act like republicons.
