As positive as it is to have some photographs to go off of, there's still nothing known about motives at this point.

White Hat is definitely light skinned and appears to be Caucasian. Black Hat may have somewhat darker skin than White Hat but it's still too unclear about his race or origin. And I don't know if the darker skin might just be a matter of shadows.

from my experience I can discern about these guys. They are two young men in about their 20s and the way they walk. I've seen this plenty of times. Both walk with an arrogance as if they are above everybodyelse and can get way with anything. Especially the kid with the base ball cap. He is bow legged too. I wouldn't rule out rightwing extremists at all.

I have to say the fact that these guys are so young makes me hopeful for a VERY quick ID, and a capture not long afterwards.

Reason I say this is because it's almost certain people this young have living parents, lots of relatives that know them well, etc. It's a lot easier for a 50+ year old person to fall off the map (ala Kaczynski) and have very few people knowing who/where they are than would be the case with 20 year olds.

Also more likely (though by no means certain) that they'd lack the funds to flee ... hell, they look like a couple college students.

I have to say of all the possible 'profiles' I imagined in the last two days, a couple of very ordinary-looking caucasian-looking college boys were very low on my list. I would think the vast majority of people envisioned either Arab-looking guys, or angry-looking, older, white guys. Just our existing prejudices coming out I suppose ...

You have to ignite it in order to cause an explosion, and even then, it just burns rapidly. Low explosives only explode if they are ignited in a closed container, which can cause a rapid increase in pressure.

All the impact and friction sensitive materials are high explosives like nitroglycerine or PETN.

It's clear by watching the video (the extended video on tv news, which starts with them rounding a corner and continuing down the street) that the two men are together (either that, or 2 is stalking 1 -- not likely). Yet they are walking single file, and further apart than people normally do.

It says to me that they are together yet trying to make it SEEM that they are NOT together.

Also, the markings on the hats could provide details, and the clothing etc. The black hat seems to have a "D" and the white one a "7"? Anyway, someone sooner or later will probably identify those logos, which could at least help with profiling if not a positive id.

Black hat's already been ID'd as a Bridgestone golf hat. The other hat might be a Polo knockoff, and that "7" might be a 3 that just looks like a 7 because the still frame caught the guy in motion (it might also explain the elongated nose).

The pressure cookers have been identified as 6 liter; even the brand is identified.

6 liters is a gallon and a half of milk. Think of a gallon jug and 2 quarts and a pot around it. That easily fits in those packs.

The weight is more an issue, and those packs look heavy, weighed down, tugging at the shoulders. The cookers with metal and powder might weigh 35 pounds according to some reports.

The FBI has circuit boards, powder residue, video footage, still photos, clothing IDs. They will get crowd sourcing and are undoubtedly looking over previous month's videos for scouting missions.

It has already been determined that the batteries used were common rechargeables for Radio Controled (RC) model airplanes, and that the circuit boards are similar to those types.

The suspects arrived by some transportation and there can be back tracking.

They turned the corner in the video. Which corner is that? Then there will be video along that path. People will have snaps of them on trains or bicycles. They may have been seen getting into a car or out of one. They may have been on buses.

They live(d) somewhere. Perhaps they told people on the 14th they were moving or going on vacation.

Pretty safe to say the first is of Estonian/Irish background and the 2nd is 70% French, 25% Greek and 5% American Indian most likely Seminole. Just as I predicted.

I think it is ludicrous to speculate based on those blurry images... Maybe the FBI can with enhancement, but I've got nothing....and don't know how anyone else could conclude anything as well. So, perhaps the comment above is on target!
