George W. Bush: ‘There’s No Need To Defend Myself’

PEMA LEVY 10:21 AM EDT, MONDAY APRIL 22, 2013

George W. Bush said that his new presidential library in Dallas, Texas is not meant to re-litigate his presidency in an interview with USA Today published Sunday.

"There's no need to defend myself," Bush said. "I did what I did and ultimately history will judge."

The dedication of George W. Bush Presidential Center, which includes a library, museum and public policy institute at Southern Methodist University, is Thursday. The Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks are a major feature of the museum.

From USA Today:

The Iraq War, the 2007 troop surge there, the 2008 financial meltdown and the response to Katrina in 2005 are featured in an interactive exhibit called "decision points theater" where visitors can assess "the decisions that I had to make and the recommendations I received," he says.

Must be nice in a terrible sort of way to be that assured of the rightness of your actions.

Plus, while there's "no need" there is also "no use" to defending himself either.
And history will judge.

on edit: Just making sure that e'one knows I rarely agree with him.

Additionally, he is incapable of defending himself. I'm guessing he has no clue what the hell happened or why.

by presenting him as a good person. Groundwork is being laid for Jebbie and I sure as hell am not going to give the media a pass on George. His deceptions and dirty deed need to be shouted daily and kept in front of the people.

You are entitled to representation, i.e., defense, and if you cannot afford one (and we know you can), one will be provided for you.

Because he keeps using that word, and I do not think it means what he thinks it means.
