Super interesting blog post making the rounds:
http://jesterscourt.cc/2013/04/23/boston-marathon-bombing-just-a-hunch/
Long story short: blog suggests it was Dzhokar Tsarnaev who built and tested the bombs (explaining some weird explosive reports two plus weeks ago south of Boston), a point perhaps supported by the presence of fuses in his dorm room, and that numerous tweets made by young Dzhokar and others are very curious indeed.
This story keeps getting wilder.

And then how those tweets and messages were instantly deleted once Dzhokhar was ID'd.
And the interesting info about a certain friend and some alias'....
But you'd have to actually read the OP's link.

(2,347 posts)1. Dzokhar returned to school in the period after the bombing but before the FBI put out the pix.
2. Tamerlan was the carjacker.
3. Dzokhar ran over Tamerlan and killed him.
4. Dzokhar - it appears - tried to commit suicide.
So, here's the scenario: FBI puts out pix, Tamerlan panics, kills MIT cop, hijacks car, gets Dzokhar. Dzokhar blows a gasket, realizing Tamerlan just outed the two of them. In the gunfight, he runs the car over Tamerlan to kill him, both out of rage AND to prevent him from talking. Afterwards, he attempts to take his own life both out of desperation and a desire to protect the others.
How's that? Seems almost plausible.

(18,672 posts)The BS on the internets about "teh conspiracy" is getting pretty thick in some places. Good link! I think I'm going to drop this in a few of said places - kind of like a stink bomb, LOL.

(37,540 posts)Suspect#2 may have gained his technical expertise through these 'fireworks' events, but I also think #1 was the sociopath influence. The other event members could well have been duped about #2's true intentions...but they seem to be good leads for the FBI to follow up on.

HANOVER
Police and fire investigators are trying to determine who has been setting off a series of homemade explosives near Route 53 in recent weeks.
Fire Chief Jeffrey Blanchard said the explosions have not caused any injuries or property damage, but the State Police bomb squad had to be called in after two unexploded devices were found near Pine Street and Tower Hill Drive on March 12. Police had been sent to the area after witnesses at the Target store on the other side of Route 53 reported seeing a bright flash and hearing two explosions.
Fire crews were also called to the nearby intersection of Hearthstone and Fieldstone lanes on March 15 for a report of an explosion, but no devices were found. Blanchard said investigators have since talked with residents who reported hearing other explosions in the past but did not call 911 to report them.

So there were numerous explosions and in the later ones, no devices were found? Plenty of opportunity for developing their bomb making skills.

(36,437 posts)I have to think that this will lead to future protocols: if there are mysterious explosions in an area, you go full court press on terror prevention. There should be a local FD/FBI database of non-explained explosive reports.

(34,136 posts)I wonder if the Hanover police still have the remains of the device they did find. It would be interesting if it used the same green cord the Boston explosive devices did - the same that was found in Suspect #2's dorm room.

(12,154 posts)investigators re-examining the case, now with Tamerlan Tsarnaev in mind as the possible killer, could question Dzhokhar to see what information he might have on the case.

(36,437 posts)That could either explain or explain away Dzhokhar's tweets of March 20 and thereabouts. Maybe they really were setting off fireworks. But why? Interesting, in any case.
I heard numerous experts today say that the fireworks listed couldn't have served as the explosives for the kinds of bombs they made. So maybe it's moot.
