He should be visited by the families who lost loved ones and by the ones wounded, randomly, throughout his life term.

They will be allowed to berate him, swear at him and say anything they want for as long as he lives.

Never a day will go by where he will be free from their rightful torment.

He will never know when they will visit and he can not say a word at all in reply.

Life in prison is what he deserves.

One day the fundies come in and preach hellfire and damnation if he doesn't give his soul to Jesus. The next day the victims families come in and tell him what they think of him. The utter torment of being whipsawed between the two would probably do the trick of just punishment. Day after day, with no end in sight.

or that this would bother him.

What if he doesn't care? Or worse, what if he gets some sort of pleasure knowing he inflicted their pain? Your scenario could be a reward, not a punishment.

The families who lost loved ones would gain nothing from this, they certainly would not heal. They would only be punishing themselves.

since he's working with the authorities now, he has regrets and in 10 years while he's rotting away in a prison, those regrets will haunt him every single day of his life. To, I couldn't think of a sweeter hell for him after what he as done.

Then compound that with the people whose life he as effected randomly coming him to condemn and berate him, that would be the ultimate punishment.

And while initially it may -- or may not -- be therapeutic for the survivors of his violence, ultimately it would not be helpful to them either.

I write from somebody who has suffered some significant losses in my life due directly to other's envy and/or hatred, and who has witnessed family members spend a lifetime stewing in hatred against their abusers.
