Nicolas Maduro Did Not Steal the Venezuelan Election
http://www.vice.com/en_uk/read/nicolas-maduro-did-not-steal-the-venezuelan-election
Nicolas Maduro, elected President of Venezuela last Sunday, did indeed drive a bus, then led the drivers union, then drove Chávezs laws through the National Assembly as Venezuelas National Assembly chief.
And this week, the US State Department is refusing to accept the result, suggesting Maduro hijacked the vote count. But did he?
Maduro came to me that day in 2004 on a quiet mission, sent by President Hugo Chávez ........

(15,262 posts)Even though Maduro won by a very handy margin: "Maduro secured 50.8% of votes in Sunday's election, while Capriles won 49%, election officials said earlier this week." http://www.cnn.com/2013/04/18/world/americas/venezuela-elections
Ironically, Bush vs. Kerry was 50.7% to 48.3%. Maduro got a higher percent than Bush.
The CNN coverage is very biased, it seems to me.
Isn't it also ironic that Venezuela reformed their electoral system to make it audit able because of US meddling in their elections?
