How ironic. An airline called Virgin America has installed a new service in which it encourages passengers to get lucky. Sort of.Described on the company's official website as "seat-to-seat delivery," customers are now able to order snacks, meals or drinks for ANOTHER seat on the plane, including with these items a text message of some kind.
And Sir Richard Branson is making no secret that the goal of this service is to give passengers a chance to get to know each other well.
Heres my guide to getting lucky at 35,000 feet," he says in a video. "First, pinpoint the object of your affection. Treat her, or him, to something delicious with the Red seat-to-seat delivery system. I say that your chance of deplaning with a plus 1 are at least 50%."

Personally I think this is a *terrible* idea. And I believe it will be quickly abandoned when the complaints pile up from female travelers who have been harassed in-flight by creepy guys or horny businessmen.

(26,603 posts)or hit on, so building in a system to do exactly that is certain to cause more problems than benefits. Plus, people who act inappropriately in bars (etc.) can be ejected, but an airplane is a confined space. Unless, Virgin is adding bouncers to throw out people who harass and annoy other passengers?

(21,925 posts)to a flight's enjoyment. Especially on long flights, the last thing I've thought about is sex when I was struggling with the discomfort in my legs and my behind.
Probably the only exception was when I took Singapore Airlines to the Far East some years ago where the stewardesses all looked like Miss Universe contestants. But in that case they were just too intimidatingly beautiful to even bother flirting with and all I could do was stare in wonderment the entire flight, almost forgetting about how damned uncomfortable I felt.
