2. I am glad they gave Richard Clarke the tag line.

I really like him. He is a very sensible guy.

He more or less pointed out that after 9/11 we went overboard. We should have asked for more security, but we may have gotten too much, which doesn't necessarily make us more secure.

3. It's not about security. It's about tax dollars to contractors

It's all one big con. "Security" is a code word for cost-plus contracts. Look at how many new contractors are old Cold War government guys.

It is all about transfer of wealth form everyone to a few, fat, hungry capitalist pigs having a banquet at the public trough.

5. Why else would venture capitalists buy small upstart security and inv companies?

Been there, saw that, and quit.

6. Plus retired general officers go to these companies and cash in in executive positions who then

use their connections to get more contracts.

And if you look at the larger defense company contractors job postings, they are seeking only former military MOS specific jobs such as Former MOS 35L, 351L, 35E, or DoD (counterintelligence) civilian/joint service equivalents.

7. The biggest con is there is no product nor enemy

They get paid for a service that serves no purpose.

At least defense contractors often have to build a weapon. These guys analyse data produce reports that go in circles.

9. Agree, Especially when the rest of us are paying for it by way

of our tax dollars since the rich are obviously stashing theirs off shore so they don't have to pay for it.

i'd much prefer my tax dollars were spent on making the world a better place. Blowing up babies with drones doesn't do that.

10. Today, just the interest is being paid, future generation will still be paying for this.

First they take all the money, then they loan it back and collect interest for a lifetime.

8. The 'security' business if very profitable, but not much good for the rest of us. After

building massive 'security' institutions, spending trillions of dollars, spying on Americans (but not on actual terrorists apparently) engaging in so many wars we've lost count, it has all been one big failure. Apparently we are in as much danger as we were, maybe more, than when this huge Con Job began 12 years ago.
