Did our Dem Sites for the New Revolution Against Bush & Repug Values...somehow Let Us Down?

Should we have "Dug Harder" into the MSM Reports and EVEN from what we thought were "OUR OWN" websites parsing and activising us?

Should we have "Pulled a Curtain?" Was there a "Curtain" a "Veil" obscuring what we Thought We Saw. which obscured what we HOPED FOR...against the REALITY...of WHAT we WOULD GET?... in the reality that we all missed?

I don't know how I would answer this post if someone else on DU Posted it.. I'd probably be Puzzled.

I AM Puzzled... Is anyone else?

I think there are "Hurting Dems" like me out there...and I think we don't know quite why and the Answers to the Questions that we have are TOO PAINFUL...

But...that said...WHAT IS THE FUTURE? WHERE IS THE FUTURE?

I'm Hopeful...there WILL BE SOMETHING NEW....or there will be an AWAKENING of DEM PARTY to "THE HURT!" If so...what will our Dem Party do to move forward beyond.."THE HURT?"

Forward Thinking....WHAT? I think there could be Good Stuff.... After This...

but I have turned to fiction for relief. Nothing is as it seems.

Now it seems to many, myself included that the election has become a means to an end. We want our party in power, and the issues are the cudgels used to scare us into donating and voting. Once in power, the party becomes about getting more power, and holding onto it at any cost.

I have been considering something for a few days now. Something I have been reluctant to mention here but an impression I am unable to shake.

How many of us remember the Republican base response to Immigration reform under Bush? The base turned against the elected in seconds. Bricks were mailed by the hundreds to every elected Republican. We would never do that. We would never put principle above party. McCain argued for immigration reform, and Bush called those opposing it racist, and the RW stuck to their guns.

Now all the motivation aside, and I agree it was racist, would we do that? Would we stop supporting Democrats over an issue? Would we scream and send symbols of our outrage to our representative? The answer I am forced to admit is no. No matter how many times they betray us we are still loyal, and still donate to Democrats, and still vote straight Democrat tickets. We tell ourselves that the Rethugs are worse, and any Democrat is better than any Rethug. Does that mean we are less passionate in our beliefs? Or are we becoming party over principle types.

I don't think we are as dedicated to our principles as the RW is, and I think that is a shame.

But, that's not necessarily true. We've had Big Time Donors...but, we don't seem to use the money well. Or is it that it goes into the pockets of people who don't work to do the Grassroots organizing the Repugs have been so succesfull in doing. Repugs always had the Christian Far Right speaking for them in the churches, and then it was Race Issues, Gender and Guns...which all got funding from usual suspects on the Right with Corporate or Religious money.

Yet...those who give BIG MONEY to Dems seem to be with us...but, the "organization on the ground" never gets the funding and dedicated support it need for us not to keep picking folks we think will be Heroes as President...who have tended to disappoint after they have gone and we find out what we didn't know they were doing that many times wasn't what we elected them to do. We don't seem to be able to hold our politicians accountable the way the Repugs seem to do.

But...is that because the Repugs have Backers who can buy Congress Critters and pay Lobbyists to be "in their pocket" with more money than Dem Backers can give? Or is the money equal but the Dem Donors give it without the STRINGS ATTACHED...the Repug Donors tie to their donations?

And...what could we do to change that...if there is that difference. ?
