Who doesn't kill spiders in their home or work? We live on a farm and always kill spiders in the house and occupied areas and go out of our way not to harm those in seldom occupied areas of the farm...except for brown recluse (very common here) which we kill anyplace we see them..

I catch it and put it out the back door in the back garden; I don't kill it. (If there were poisonous spiders in the UK, I might; as it is, spiders are generally beneficial...they eat flies and other insects.)

in our home are brown recluse, the rest are more harmless. I view it as having plenty of places for spiders to live out their lives on my property, my home isn't one of them. Now I have captured several wolf spiders from around my home and moved them, I like wolfs and yellow and black garden spiders..I photograph the garden spiders and monitor webs waiting for the tiny males to arrive on the webs of the females in the late summer..

Except for black widows. Every one I find on my property meets a quick end.

But the little house spiders inside? I leave those. I figure they help keep the black widows out.

Then US water treatment systems are committing holocausts every day, and antibiotics and antivirals should be banned.

When I clean my bathroom with bleach, the UN should capture me and put me on trial for chemical warfare.

Mousetraps - constitutionally banned. Their only purpose is to KILL!

All animal control officers should be imprisoned immediately, and the National PETA Truth and Reconciliation Commission can hold years of inquiries detailing their crimes against the desaparecidos peludos.

Washing of humans and their clothes should be made a Crime Against Ectoparasites. We can erect monuments in every city, crying for the unborn children of the nearly extinct human lice and flea populations. IT WAS GENOCIDALWARFARE.

I'll tell you what. You try out that lifestyle for five years, and then come back and tell me about the enlightenment you have gained. Please stand upwind when you come back. And not too close!

are animals.

Have you ever had a mammal pet? Have you ever treated said pet for fleas? Ever set a mousetrap or had an exterminator come to your house? Ever sprayed/knocked down a wasp or hornet nest in the doorway/eves/windows of your home?

If you really believe a cockroach has the same inherent rights as a human child, then you are entitled to your opinion. It will be a minority opinion.

I think you know the answer to your question. But I will answer it if you will answer this question:
If you saw a three year-old being mauled by a dog in the street, would you attempt to intervene on behalf of the child even if this involved harm to the dog?

It is based entirely on emotional reasons, and has nothing to do with logic.

Factors that help me to make these emotional decisions are whether or not I can see the animal suffer, my loyalty to my fellow human beings, how the animals make me feel when I see them, etc.

suck. The actual quote:

"People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals President Ingrid Newkirk issued a statement saying Christie probably killed it without thinking. Newkirk said "some people put the spider outside, but spiders are often scary" and that can prevent people from pondering their worth."

Would they cry over the slow starvation of a Venus Fly Trap?

In the 70's there was a study that indicated plants are sentient because they respond positivlely to kindness, attention and music and tomatoes have a negative physical reaction when being picked from the vine. Does PETA boob over a tomatoe being sliced up?

Do all members of PETA carry a small broom and sweep the ground in front of them to avoid stepping on small insects?

over the weekend. Just it's butt, and it was on someone else's hand, but I still did it. My daughter was livid thinking my husband dared me. It wasn't that. There was a 10yo girl there and she was like "Oooohhh, can I pet it." I was thinking if she could do it, than this 50yo woman could also.

Really silky hair. I was surprised.

However, if one ever showed up in my home, I'd be hunting the largest shoe or can of Raid I could find. We have mainly wolf spiders and "charlottes" (I don't know what they're really called, but they look like Charlotte on Charlotte's Web.). We also have some black/yellow garden spiders and a range of spikey black/white spiders (I call them funny butt spiders.).
