Election night in British Columbia; CTV projects win for Liberals

CTV News projects that the Liberals will win the British Columbia election.

As of 9:10 p.m. PT, the Liberals were leading or elected in 50 ridings. The NDP were leading or elected in 32 ridings.

Forty-three ridings are needed for the winner to clinch a majority.

After a tense election campaign, the NDP was hoping to remove the Liberals from power after 12 years of rule.

this happened in Alberta too. I'm guessing the pollsters are going to have to go back to the drawing board, clearly they didn't learn from Alberta.

BTW - the Liberals are the right wing party in BC, the Conservative party is practically non-existent and the NDP is quite left. The reason the Liberals have been in so long is the last NDP government was supremely corrupt. I guess people aren't ready to trust them again just yet.

Christy Clark's seat is in danger - will be interesting to see if the Liberals win, but she loses her seat.
