Will Republicans go after the former U.S. Commissioner of the IRS or just President Obama?

Douglas H. Shulman was the U.S. Commissioner of Internal Revenue. He was appointed by George Bush in 2008. His nomination was confirmed by the full U.S. Senate on March 14, 2008 and he was sworn in on March 24, 2008. Douglas Schulman, headed the IRS during the scrutiny of Tea Party groups in 2012. Schulman's term ended on November 11, after the 2012 election.

Tea Party should blame themselves - they wanted Republicans to block all of Obama's appointees. They were glad that Bush's head of IRS, Shulman, had a 5 year term. It was he who made the choice to go after Tea Party groups instead of huge political players like Rove's Crossroads who also wanted to stop Tea Party candidates from primarying GOP senators and congressmen. McConnell definitely wanted Tea Party out of his race.

The director left when his term expired. The president has not appointed a successor.

GOP congressmen have blocked nearly all Obama appointments to date.

Something to consider.

Senate approves or denies it.
I don't understand why he has left this appointment vacant for over 6 months.

and a five year term for a Bush appointee fit in with their aim.
A Republican headed the IRS. That Tea Party was targeted while Rove and his organizations operating with hundreds of millions of dollars were never targeted should clue them in to what really happened. Rove and every GOP strategist loyal to him never wanted Tea Party candidates to beat current GOP senators and congressmen and establishment endorsed Republicans in their primary races.

They will shortly bring in a Ken Starr clone to further waste time and money and ensure that nothing useful ever gets done the rest of Obama's term in office.

The GOP will, imo, attempt to impeach President Obama. I trust one does not have to be an Obamabot or Obama-worshipper to note that this is outrageous and wrong, and undermines our government in every way.
