Eric Holder's testimony was OUTSTANDING today! Kick if you're with me...

I thought he was forceful! I thought he told the Republicans about themselves, holding nothing back. He refused to be mistreated or talked over. He explained things with clarity and forthrightness. He did an amazing job today.

I gained a whole lot of new respect for Holder. He was totally unbent by their attacks, way outclassed them (Cong. repubs.) and, I firmly hope, is celebrating with one of Obama's home-brewed beers (and Obama) tonight!

I would like to think this was all planned in advance and will serve to solidify a Dem majority in the house in 2014.

Please don't burst my bubble!

Holder Stands Up for the Right to Vote

Today’s excellent New York Times editorial rightfully praises Attorney General Eric Holder’s efforts this week to highlight the sanctity of the right to vote in America. In his speech from the Lyndon Baines Johnson presidential library in Austin, Texas, the attorney general said, “The right to vote is not only the cornerstone of our system of government — it is the lifeblood of our democracy. And no force has proved more powerful — or more integral to the success of the great American experiment — than efforts to expand the franchise.”

But this year, we’ve seen a coordinated effort to shrink our democracy and push voters out of the electorate as legislatures across the country have passed laws that will make it harder for Americans – particularly African-Americans, the elderly, students and people with disabilities – to exercise their fundamental right to cast a ballot. The Department of Justice plays a critical role in fighting back against these voter suppression laws. The agency can challenge discriminatory voting laws and stop them from going into effect.

Take action and tell Attorney General Holder you agree with his efforts to protect the right to vote.

Re. Gohmert's attempt to say Justice coddles terrorists:

“Unless somebody’s done something inappropriate, you don’t have access to the FBI files,” said Holder. “You don’t know what the FBI did. You don’t know what the FBI’s interaction was with the Russians. You don’t know what questions were put to the Russians, whether those questions were responded to. You simply do not know that…I know what the FBI did. You cannot know what I know.”

Eric Holder Serves Darrell Issa A Huge Plate of STFU

Holder: No, No. That’s what you do. I’m not going to stop talking now. You characterized as something those…of the people in the Justice Department. That is inappropriate and is too consistent with the way in which you conduct yourself as a member of Congress. It’s unacceptable, and it’s shameful

There is no love lost between Issa and Attorney General Holder. Remember, Rep. Issa was behind the House vote to hold Eric Holder in contempt over 2012′s bogus Fast and Furious scandal.

...again, for WHAT crimes? Congress deregulated the entire banking industry, essentially *legalizing* practices that would have been deem illegal under old SEC regulations. Congress also deliberately weakened the enforcement of established laws and their OWN responsibility to exercise oversight. For nearly 6 years now, people have despised Eric Holder because he didn't go after Wall Street. When asked what laws were broken and which ones Holder should have targeted, they come up with nothing. Why? The answer is very simple: DEREGULATION created this mess and made illegal banking practices LEGAL!!!

I am sorry but I have always been in President Obama's and Atty. General Holder's corners, but I do not think that Mr. Holder did an outstanding job today. If you are in charge of an agency I feel that you should not say I don't know so many times. It says to me that as the head of the agency you are not aware of what is really going on and that should be your responsibility. I do not like how Issa tried to intimidate Mr. Holder and I'm glad that Mr. Holder said what he said but I just wish Mr. Holder had more information to throw back at him.

of this non-issue, they should've questioned the Deputy Attorney General. That's who oversaw this program. But, they really don't want the assistant AG. They want Holder. They want Obama. We really need to wake up over this fact and stop giving the Republicans ammunition to go after Holder. he recused himself, so how would he know what went on? All he knows is that he was part of the investigation; he didn't oversee it.

Running a mostly political DOJ is not doing anything right.

Stop setting up retarded people as terrorists and doing a dog and pony show on it. Stop illegally harassing and harming protesters and activists on all sides. He should have gone after the crimes against humanity that are still being perpetrated, cause they like it that way.

Bengazi was a set up but they are not treating it as such and investigating that as treason by the right, like the Iran hostage crisis, like Iran Contra, like Ollie North, like election fraud, incarceration of whistle blowers, Seiglman etc, etc, etc.

There is nothing here to be proud of as long as politics trumps all things in both parties and the Constitution, the law be damned as well as the future of most Americans.
