On February 6, following Personhood USAs push to proclaim fertilized human eggs the same as grown humans, the Republican dominated Oklahoma legislature introduced the bill known as Personhood Bill SB 1433 to the Senate Floor. In response, Democratic State Senator Constance Johnson attached an amendment to the bill that would ban the spilling of semen in any location other than a womans vagina.
According to the report in thelostogle.com, the amendment would outlaw masturbation by men, and all forms of sexual activity in which a man ejaculates or otherwise deposits semen anywhere but in a womans vagina shall be interpreted and construed as an action against an unborn child. Monty Python would be so proud!
She later removed the measure stating that she wanted to emphasize the absurdity of the bill and its sexist undertones that is inherent in Personhood movement.
Another State Senator Democrat Jim Wilson, attempted to add an amendment to the same bill that would require the father of the child to be financially responsible for the mothers welfare for the duration of the pregnancy, including housing, food, transportation, and all medical costs.

(63,912 posts)it's a great analogy. Reinforces the right to privacy...let men consider what it's like to have their most intimate body functions controlled by the state...nicely done IMO...

(8,836 posts)Binky Brown (the alter ego Green used in all of his autobiographical stories) exhibits compulsive behavior from an early age, but shortly before puberty he begins to develop an elaborate system of obsessions based on the fear that he will contaminate religious sites with his sexual thoughts. Eventually he begins to believe that "rays" from his penis (later emanating also from his hands and feet, and even from furniture) must be kept from striking churches or images of Mary. This disturbing psychological case study is portrayed with frequent touches of humor, as Binky also faces more usual challenges of adolescence. The story follows Brown/Green through his early twenties, when he finally achieves some control over his intrusive thoughts.
At the time he drew the book, Green did not know about OCD and described his condition as neurosis, which he blamed largely on his Catholic upbringing. After being diagnosed with OCD, Green softened his position on Catholicismthough he did not return to the Churchand, in his foreword to The Binky Brown Sampler, described the story as "a sin of youth ... [but] done out of internal necessity."

Why do we have crazies in government? Shouldn't we be screening them out? There are sane people who could represent the people of the world.

I watched the Judgment at Nuremberg movie last night. If we had learned anything from WW2, 2000 would never have happened the way it did. I'm afraid that only the physicists are making progress on planet earth.
