and many other DUers, we do learn about all those issues (what we should know about instead of the fluff and distractions).

and "gas prices". Regarding the gay one, who CARES which celebs are gay and which ones aren't? That is strictly their business. It is none of anyone else's concern. My life personally is not affected by somebody being gay or straight. And as far as gas prices are concerned, they will continue increasing and decreasing as demand changes. No one--not even the President--has control over gas prices, except the oil companies.
Also the "stock report" one is another that gets me. As an average American who is not the owner of some multi-national corporation, why should I care how well some retail chain is doing? Most people are neither business owners, nor do they own stock. The not-really Liberal Media should quit worrying so much about record profits on Wall Street, and start covering more of what is happening on Main Street i.e. how many jobs are being created and how unemployment is doing. And talk more about Americans who are living in poverty, not just the middle class. As it is right now, the middle class has been shrinking for several decades.

And I am not just describing Fox. They are all asleep at their corporate masters feet.

It's propaganda and a clear need to dumb down America. The old bait and switch!

It's time for the working class to kick corporate ass, from sea to shining sea! And no, that statement was not brought to you by the Koch Brothers! Fuggem!

Thanks babylonsister!

It would be programs about homesteaders, living off the grid, easy and cheap ways to recycle stuff into household items.

I subscribe to many differant homesteader, off the grid newsletter/email/Facebook gimmicks, but I would love to see a TV channel dedicated to it.

I would think Vanguard channel would be the best home, or DIY channel. Just no reality BS.

say... I would also like to add, that we get a news channel that talks about real issues and not fluff!

Much work must be done...
If we are all on here, and we know these things, but the right wing of our friends and neighbors don't, maybe a channel where we can bring up "real" issues is needed. I don't believe we can depend on the media to cover important topics.

Ed, and Rachael do the best they can, within the bonds of their Masters..
I'm willing to guess that most people , (the ones I talk to anyway), have no ideal
what's really going on, and what the issues are.. Where I live it is impossible....
Its so red with guns, racism, and small minded thinking.. I have about given up!
I may have a total of 4 people out of 340 FB friends that think like me, a Democratic..

I still think they ought to let us K&R some OPs more than once. Not fair!

I never hear anyone mention it, but I have DISH and watch allot of FreespeechTV, LinkTV, and the Documentary Channel. That's how I keep up on "What we should know about." Right now, I'm getting ready to watch "The War on Kids" on the Doc Channel (from 2009, Public schools are investigated for failing to educate children.)

Edited to correct sp!

have decided we need to know. In the meantime, consume, act happy, and do not be even a little concerned that our planet's ability to sustain life as we have known it is being seriously compromised daily, mostly for the sake of corporate greed and the push for a little more profit.
