"One Nation Under Surveillance"

I've had this bumper sticker on my car for about 6 years or so. I'm sure a lot of people thought i was a paranoid nut. They're probably shocked, just shocked, by the recent news reports. But this hasn't been news to most of us here.

It actually started right after 9/11.

And another thing about the Internet a security. I administrated Internet servers of all types for years. All the information that goes over the Internet goes via TCP/IP protocols. There is no one point where a message exists and no one path it takes to go from one node to another. So your message appears on many servers along the path.

In short, there is no expectation of any privacy on the Internet. NONE! Unless you use encryption, like PGP. But then traffic analysis is still available even though the encryption disguises your message. And no, the NSA cannot likely crack PGP.

This is not an Obama issue. This is a US issue, one we need to be vocal about.

Which party is most likely to be on our side?
