"to those who scare peace-loving people with phantoms of lost liberty, my message is this:

your tactics only aid terrorists, for they erode our national unity and diminish our resolve. They give ammunition to America's enemies, and pause to America's friends. They encourage people of goodwill to remain silent in the face of evil."

Ashcroft, when warned about the possibility of airliners being hijacked in 2001 stopped his usual custom of flying on commercial airlines and he and his family took private jets provided by the very people he did not warn in any way. He took steps to protect himself and his family from a threat he was told about, he let thousands of Americans die without the same warning.
So you are quoting him? Why?

I simply asked you your intentions in posting a quote from him without any indication as to how you relate to it. If that's too much for you, all apologies. It was a simple question.

some people are defending the recent revelations of massive electronic surveillance when it is clear that they would not be defending it if it were under the Bush Administration. By quoting one of the Bush Administrations leading defenders of practices that undermined the constitutional rights of U.S. citizens - I was hoping to point out through irony how ridiculous their defense of similar practices are when they occur under a Democratic administration.

God willing, we will prevail, in peace and freedom from fear, and in true health, through the purity and essence of our natural fluids.

He was the long arm of the law and if he wanted you to be followed you were followed. If he had the resources he would have been following anybody who did not kiss his and Bush's ass. Then.

So they created the agencies and hardware to follow and find out who, via the web, anyone that doesn't kiss their ass. That would be today.
