2. I use the Better Business Bureau's website to screen charities

They have a database of charities that where you can look up the group that is soliciting you. If the charity is not listed there or if it doesn't meet BBB standards, I don't contribute to it. Google give.org and you'll find it. It's a great resource.

in order to deceive people.

My concern is that the legitimate charities will get hurt by these rip-off artists.
