(22,541 posts)One, it's such a great photo that captures the mood and expressions so well and I love water in black and white. It just looks wetter. But the boy who took his shirt off to get in the fountain tugs at my heart, too. I'm proud of him.

(12,448 posts)Two, three, or four excellent shots in one thread, only one of which can be voted on, and a whole collection of amateur snapshots on the next.

(22,756 posts)we are a congenial group of picture takers-- some really good!!, some trying to be good and some just having fun; but all respecting each other for what we bring
the photos are randomly grouped and this contest is for fun and if you would like to come over to the Photography Group and offer suggestions, ideas and critique, we are always open and welcoming!!

(12,448 posts)simple frustration. It was just that it seems to be a regular occurrence in these contests, which I thoroughly enjoy, that one or two of the treads have multiple exceptional pics, while another thread is meh.
Thanks for the info.

(22,380 posts)or do you just know what you like?
It's all a matter of taste, isn't it? We who enter the photos are oftentimes utterly astonished at the photos that win vs. the ones that get left in the dust. I know I am.
Come to the photo forum, bring some of yours, and teach us about what you like and why.

(27,451 posts)Sometimes the photos are listed in the order they are submitted. Sometimes a host uses a random number generator to decide the order.
This time I assigned numbers 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3... To the submissions and placed the photos in the corresponding threads. The order in each thread was random.
I have never noticed an attempt by any host to "stack the deck."
Hope that answers your question.
