Dog rescues baby from trash

When Pui spotted the white plastic bag, he took it in his mouth, brought it home and barked as loud as he could. The owner’s 12-year-old niece came to see what the fuss was about and looked in the bag, discovering a newborn baby girl.

The infant was taken to a hospital, and authorities are looking for its mother. And Pui is being handsomely rewarded — first with a leather collar and medal from the Red Cross and then with a $300 gift from the Miracle of Life Foundation.

For such a small dog. An average baby is about 7 pounds? That dog can't weigh more than 20 himself. Yes, find the mother, and put her in jail.

Good dog, Pui, you are a very handsome boy, yes you are. This happened in Thailand, just so people know.

She may have left fingerprints on the bag, but what if her prints aren't in the system? What if this was a 14 year old girl hiding a pregnancy and miscarriage? Kids may not be aware of new rules allowing them to drop off babies at hospitals without investigations.

A US case. The details slipped by while I was thinking about the dog, the baby, and an unknown mother.

We had a carin terrier who looked a bit shorter and shaggier than that dear doggie. Reminds me of our Ragmop. Hero!!!

"Pui is being handsomely rewarded — first with a leather collar and medal from the Red Cross..."

Don't doggies love steak? Mine certainly loved meat but especially red meat (which they seldom got, back in the day).
