I've seen them do this with drugs and money they've confiscated as well.
What's the purpose? I don't understand it.

"That no mater how long it take the police will get you."

I posted about a week ago that there had not been a murder in the County I live in for the past 7 years, but we have County police that are armed like they were the FBI office in Baltimore. And this County shares two hard to reconcile facts, it has one of the lowest crime rates in the country and it is also one of the poorest counties in the Country - but you'd never know either was true to see how our Police are armed.

(32,093 posts)When I was 19 I was traveling with a buddy through St. Louis moving from one place to another. I had personal legal guns unloaded and locked in the trunk of my car. I was stopped and the cops searched my vehicle. They found the guns and charged me with 19 felonies and two misdameanors. They took me and my buddy to a room and put the guns and ammo on a long table with us at one end. Then they called in the local media and had them film us as "terrorists" they had caught. We saw a judge the next day. He laughed at the charges, dismissed them and sent us (and the guns) on our way.
