(3,251 posts)Suspension of accused teachers is SOP in public school districts, often with pay. You know, "innocent until proven guilty" and all of that.
If she's guilty, she will be fired and her license revoked, never to teach again.

(20,729 posts)after being accused, which is typical procedure for any accusation. next step is investigation/trial, & then she will be either fired or reinstated, should it turn out to be false. looks like it's going to court, since she's been 'charged,' & if convicted of those charges "sexual assault of a child," she won't be teaching anymore anywhere.

(7,318 posts)Age of consent is 17 in Texas, and sexual assault is the term used in Texas for statutory rape. If found guilty of this second degree felony, this teacher will end up on the Sex Offender Registry for life and, as you said, will never teach again.
