Tien1985, not picking on you (unless that was you) but these sorts or jury responses get my goat. Hide the personal attacks and maybe, just maybe, those on the next jury might think "hmmm, personal attacks are being hidden. I think I'll hide this one also".

Too bad it doesn't apply to this young man, right prosense? I mean this is an either or situation

Either he committed no crime since this stuff was already known and in that case your glee at tearing him down is so very weird. In essence you are trying to tear down someone who did nothing right and nothing wrong.

OR

He exposed Constitutional violations that have occurred under President Bush and now President Obama. In that case you are in fact defending the silencing of an American citizen who had the audacity to think he was free to expose such crimes against the American people.

I will now wait for your software upgrade to take place which will allow you to post something in response. I neither expect your post to make an coherent sense or be anywhere on topic.

...think you understand what being free means. I'm free to have an opinion. You're free to disagree. The leaker is free to leak. Having an opinion is not against the law. Leaking classified information is.

When one does so, they know that there will be consequences.

While Udall reserved the brunt of his criticism for the decision by the intelligence community to keep the surveillance program a secret rather than criticize the program itself — later on Sunday he actually defended the PRISM program that monitors communications overseas, and doesn’t log all metadata — he did question the effectiveness of collecting billions of phone records made by Americans.

This exchange starts at about 2:50.

Stephanopoulos: You're a member of congress. The president said on friday that every member of congress has access to the information. You can first start out by explaining by a member of congress not on the committee n know about this program?

Ellison: I would say almost nothing. You can't bring your staff in there so we're moving around capitol hill at lightning speed, nearly every member of congress is, if you can't get any staff support, you got to go into that room and pour through documents. Are you allowed everything?

I don't think I am. I'm allowed to see certain things. It's available if you make certain times and places to go see it.

The fact is, no, I'm not aware of this program that was revealed today. I have no notes. We checked our e-mails and our notes.

So, I think it's a fiction. It's a fiction that everybody in congress knows.

You want to throw stones at those who care about the Constitution, and pure doing a lot of that. To admit that you're against this program would necessitate you ceasing to be a jackass to those who care about personal privacy and government openness. You'd also need to drop the cult of personality behaviors you exhibit. So you've chosen to stand for nothing, and to play the wise-ass who makes fun of the dopes who don't want a surveillance state. Do you honestly believe that it's because most DUers have been duped by the M$M?

It couldn't possibly be because Americans actually treasure their liberties and will take issue with any President who doesn't respect them, no matter which party they are from, in your opinion?

I think all of you who are in support of these ineffective (Boston bombing) massively wasteful, and blatantly unconstitutional policies of vacuuming up ALL digital and phone communications are fighting a losing battle and are on the wrong side of history.

Do you really want to pass on a police state to your children, and your children's children?

Then what precisely is your motivation for the defense of these indefensible wrong-headed policies?

...not at all. In fact, the MSM is just a tool.

"It couldn't possibly be because Americans actually treasure their liberties and will take issue with any President who doesn't respect them, no matter which party they are from, in your opinion? "

Yeah, that's the reason so many of these reports rely on misinformation, right?

Can't possible stick to the facts if the goal is to create the impression that something nefarious is being done.

They're sputtering right now looking for angles to discredit, haven't found one, so they're going with "THEY'RE BEING HYSTERICAL!"

"Waiting for the facts" == waiting for the smear campaign to begin in earnest. They can't let the discussion have legitimacy if they can't get the character-assassination machine rolling.

Only knee jerk reactions and judgmental accusations will do. If you do not 100% agree, then you are an apologist or part of the problem or a government operative.

It appears to me that Mr. Snowden cares about the Constitution too. Yes, he broke the law, but he did so in a way that benefits the entire world.

Should we not be happy about that?

I find that very strange.

So did Rosa Parks and Henry David Thoreau and other civil rights crusaders. Why are you surprised to find Democrats that support civil disobedience? It's a time-honored way to object to immoral and unconstitutional laws.

Make it a battle of personality and popularity?

What facts are you waiting for? A little dirt on the whistleblower? Maybe some politics you don't like?

Something outside the admitted to and defended program, I reckon.

Facts aren't just paths to spin and change the subject. What possible "facts" are going to change an undisputed program?

The real loyalty oath at DU is not about anybody but Barack Obama. What happens on DU to those who don't take THAT oath?
