With a simple Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, any U.S. citizen can obtain one's NSA or FBI file, if such a file exists.

6. I recently turned over my FBI file to my undergraduate university.

They had requested some materials from me for researchers looking into past radical activism at the school. I included the file because it is a good example of how the FBI operated during that time period (Late 60s, early 70s). The file is not easy to read because so much of it has been blacked out to protect informants, etc.
