Pesky sack of kittens got you down? Proof firearms solve every problem:

Outrage after officer shoots sack of feral kittens

(snip)

Accorti retired as a sergeant with the North Ridgeville Police Department a few years ago and was hired as a part-time humane officer with the department.

Accorti responded to a home Monday afternoon where a feral mother cat and her five kittens were living in a woodpile.

He allegedly told the homeowner that shelters were full and that the cats would be going to kitty heaven. He then pulled out his gun and shot to death the five, 8- to 10-week-old kittens.

Accorti allegedly told the homeowner that he isn't supposed to do this, but it was justifiable. The woman ran into the house to shield her children who were screaming and crying.

Some of us also grew to figure out that the philosophy of athletic coaches wasn't always all that solid.

he showed poor judgement discharging his weapon in such close proximity to the house and children. This was not a case of a out of control animal that could kill a child so on the spot execution was not appropriate. Too many police officers and retired police officers are just plain trigger happy. It makes me wonder what kind of police officer he was prior to retirement.

Standards in humane animal control have improved.

Even in the 50s and 20s, the actions of the police officer in the OP were not acceptable, except to sociopaths. I was a child in the 1950s and in my neighborhood killing kittens and puppies was not done by normal, emotionally functioning adults or children. I can remember outrage when one boy did kill some cats - he was reported for animal abuse, shunned by the other children, and taken for counseling by his parents.

You are shooting a gun for no reason around a bunch of children and killing kittens? That should be child abuse.

proximity to people. What if the bullets ricocheted of the wooden pile and hit someone.

Sickening that he did it, and even more disgusting that he's not even being fired for doing it.

The world needs to move forward. And idiots like this guy hold the rest of society back.

that he used a firearm. If he had put a brick in the sack, and threw it into a body of water, somehow the kittens would be better off and there would be less outrage.
